John McCain: horrible judgement about Sarah Palin

Conservatives continue to take issue with John McCain for his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate.  In an article today titled Bush Strategist: McCain Knows He Put Country at Risk with Palin Pick  by Sam Stein of the Huffington Post:

Matthew Dowd, a prominent political consultant and chief strategist for George W. Bush’s reelection campaign eviscerated John McCain on Tuesday for his choice of Sarah Palin as vice president.

Dowd proclaimed that, in his heart of hearts, McCain knew he put the country at risk with his VP choice and that he would “have to live” with that fact for the rest of his career.

This isn’t the “liberal media” making this observation–this is a Conservative insider! How could any Conservatives still be thinking about voting for McCain-Palin? It is a puzzlement.

Enough! Obama-Biden in 2008!! Democrat Dave

Biden is the dumbest man in the Senate.

That shows poor judgment on the part of Barack Obama, just so you’re not confused.

mariestacey, I wonder why you say Biden is the dumbest man in the Senate. Perhaps you didn’t get to see his debate with Gov. Palin. Or, perhaps you simply don’t listen to the words that are coming out of her mouth.

At this point, one wonders how any legitimate serious republican can continue the pretense of saying she was a good choice, and a qualified person. It’s nothing but a way to lose one’s own credibility. And frankly, I now suspect them of ulterior motives. I think Newt is publically touting the wonders of Sarah, while privately working to defeat the ticket. He surely did that in the bailout. Republicans it seems, enjoy eating their own.

    culturepress,

Are you blind or just stupid?

Palin won the debate. Biden LIED continuously throughout that debate. In case you are uninformed, which it appears that you are very much so, Joe Biden is a pathological liar. Listen to Mark Levin. You would learn a lot. marklevinshow.com

Here’s a quote from your beloved Joe ‘Plugs’ Biden: “Look John’s last minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class and it happens to be, as Barack says, a 3 letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S.” (He actually spelled it out. This is a direct quote. If you don’t understand yet why he’s a moron, then you must have the same IQ level that he does. Single digit.)

Even the assholes supporting him at the rally were LAUGHING IN HIS FACE when he made this comment. Because WELL he’s a BIG MORON.

    Sherry,

Some Conservatives think all on their own without having to believe the garbage the mainstream media spews (INCLUDING FOX) about Sarah Palin. I know it’s really difficult for you to understand, but Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Barack Obama. Does that not make you feel like a complete moron for acting like she’s unqualified? It should. SHE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE FOR THE POSITION THAN OBAMA. Understand this and move on. You should probably find a different argument against Sarah Palin because I ASSURE YOU that to all normal, sane, rational people, you Lib Dems sound like complete nutcases when you support Obama and then say Palin is unqualified. Try being consistent for one day of your pathetic life. It may help you understand what I’m saying.

Marie, the Reagan-Bush approach to the economy, top-down, has failed miserably. The three worst recessions we’ve had since Vietnam were under republican Presidents. 1983, 1991, and 2008. How can people pay mortgages, purchase big-ticket items, or invest, if they don’t have JOBS?!? The democratic philosophy of having a firm foundation is simply the only logical choice.
And as for idiot-girl Palin; I don’t care if she has two days or two decades of experience. She has shown horrible judgment and is intellectually inferior.

mariestacey, since you mentioned IQs, I can promise you that my IQ is higher than 97% of the American population, and four separate, professionally-administered tests have confirmed that. If you want to know what specific score that equates to, I’ll let you do the math yourself and see what you come up with! (Let’s see if you can prove that your own IQ is at least “average.”) Joe Biden’s is 146, by the way, a few points higher than McCain’s.

Have seen you Palin’s high school grades and SAT scores? http://wjnoblog.com/wp-content/reportcard.jpg – I just thought I’d mention it, just for laughs, since we’re now *quantifying intelligence* in this discussion. I’m not even the kind of peson who needs to flaunt my IQ or use erudite verbage in order to dumb down other people. (I’m not so insecure in my intelligence.) I don’t even believe in quantifying intelligence– even with my high IQ (and SAT scores). Now, mariestacey, you’re the one who brought up numbers, not me. 🙂 Anyway, you sound like a very angry and bitter person, with your erratic tone, and having resorting to name-calling in order make your argument heard. I feel sorry for you. You sound so angry! But good luck to you–and Gov. Palin!

    A couple Palin quotes:

“Oil and coal, of course, it… it is a fungible commodity, and they don’t flag, you know, the molecules, where… where it’s going and to where it’s not but, in the… in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first.” –on September 17, 2008

“I do take issue with some of the principle there with that redistribution of wealth principle that seems to be espoused by you.” –addressing Biden in the VP debate.

Palin could not name one news publication, or one Supreme Court case other than Roe v. Wade when interviewed by Katie Couric. Intelligent and well-respected Republican conservatives (who are actually listening to her words, and not simply enamored by her charm), are calling Palin a joke–including Kathleen Parker, David Brooks, and Christopher Buckley, to name just a few. You’ve taken on an opinion without actually reading news from reputable sources or seeking out facts yourself. Therefore, you are myopic at best, and your mind is narrow. You think that everyone who disagrees with you is automatically lacking “sanity” or “intelligence,” without checking the facts yourself, outside of one or two *non-reputable* websites who claim to “fact-check.”

I don’t even need to further this discussion with someone who has the emotional maturity of a 14-yr old. Resorting to erratic name-calling will not help you win an argument; you are only representing yourself as an emotionally underdeveloped person. Again, good luck to you. I hope you find happiness and peace in your life someday. 🙂

P.S. Biden misspoke when he said “3-letter word, J-O-B-S.” I give Palin the same benefit of the doubt, for when she said that New Hampshiore is in the “great Northwest,” just last week when she was there to campaign. She clearly misspoke. I don’t think that makes her stupid, which is why I’ve told liberals, moderates, and conservatives alike over the last few days to drop that one. But being unable to name one single news publication, when she was a journalism major? Calling oil a fungible commodity? Again (since you mention numbers), a combined SAT score below 850?

mariestacy…I blocked your last post as it was “out of line.” I require that we have a respectful debate on the issues; I judged your comments to not be respectful. I don’t understand why some conservatives are filled with such hate? The McCain-Palin ticket is fueling this at their rallies and via their robomessages. The McCain-Palin ticket is in the gutter and will stay there until election night when Barack Obama is elected. And, don’t worry mariestacy–you’ll benefit from an Obama-Biden administration whether you vote for them or not. Democrat Dave

Yes, delete my post because you disagree with it.

    You must hate the truth.

I won’t benefit from an Obama administration — except that it will of course give me more ammunition to fight the Marxists, Communists, and insufferable leftists in this country. You think George Bush was bad? PUT IN BARACK OBAMA AND GIVE US THE COURT.

The Republicans will tear you apart.

We sound ‘hateful’ because we’re stronger. It’s just factual. Republicans don’t sit around and whine about being insulted or political correctness, or any of the BS you think constitutes civil liberties. We know what civil liberties actually are, and we know EXACTLY who is threatening to revoke them — Obama.

Also, if you understood this election the way I do, with so many drones and illiterates voting to support a Communist, terrorist-sympathizer, you would be angry too. But you’re not, because you must not fully understand what this country stands for. FREEDOM. When was the last time you heard Obama even mention the term freedom? I don’t ever remember it.

And honestly, I think anyone voting for Obama is pathetic. So delete my post. It doesn’t make what I say any less true.

Goodbye. I won’t be back. I hate people that moderate healthy debate.

mariestacy: I deleted your post because it was offensive and showed you don’t seem to know how to have a respectful debate of the issues. I don’t have to agree with you in order for your post to appear here. I don’t think it’s too much to expect that you are respectful. Your post above isn’s all that respectful yet I’m leaving it as it is beginning to paint an interesting picture of you.

Why is it you believe that people who don’t agree with you are “drones” or “illiterates?” Is that the way to persuade people how to think differently? To insult them. This blog isn’t Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbaugh or Bill O’Reilly where your level of diatribe is common.

Barack Obama is not a Communist, terrorist-sympathizer–those Internet-created rumors have been profoundly discredited. McCain has announced that he can’t beat Obama on the issues so, the only thing he has left, is Barack Obama’s character. McCain is going to lose this one. That’s going to be great for America.

Okay, I’m sorry I said I wouldn’t come back, but I have to ask you something.

Why is Barack Obama not a Communist? I really want to know why you think he’s not since he exhibits so many Communist characteristics and has fundamental ties to a man named Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist. Obama has also been endorsed by Communist Party USA.

He’s definitely a terrorist-sympathizer no matter what you say. William Ayers is what Americans like to call a domestic terrorist, that bombed dozens of facilities and killed 2 cops and a security guard. How he was allowed to TEACH STUDENTS I will never understand.

McCain could beat Barack Obama on any issue. As the last debate displayed. Did you watch that? I’m confused by anyone that thinks Obama even shows the slightest bit of knowledge or credibility in that debate.

Also, you will not paint any picture of me that would be accurate on this blog. I am very Patriotic and a lot of members of my family served in the military. Hell, I’ve thought about joining the military, but I decided to write a book and continue the fight at home instead.

I believe that people are ‘drones’ when they disbelieve anything told to them by a member of the opposite party. ‘Drones’ are people like Whoopi Goldberg, who while speaking to John McCain, referenced some sort of support for slavery in the Constitution. If you’ve read the document, you know there is absolutely NO POSITIVE REFERENCE TO SLAVERY in the Constitution and one that would address a presidential candidate and be so factually incorrect must be a drone. Do you not agree?

There are a lot of drones in this election. I can’t explain it fully because I’m not one of them.

mariestacy: I don’t know what makes you think he’s a Communist. In researching things like this through factcheck.org and snopes.com, there doesn’t appear to be evidence that he is a Communist. I don’t know what “fundamental ties” means. As far as being endorsed by the Communist Party USA, I am not aware of that. But, it wouldn’t concern me. Here’s why. I learned 2 weeks ago that the KKK is endorsing Barack Obama. I’m sure we can both agree that he did not actively pursue the endorsement of the KKK. I would personally doubt if he sought an endorsement from the Communist Party USA.

Bill Ayers was involved in domestic terrorism back when Barack Obama was 8 years old. When they met years later in life, he was a teacher. There is no “aiding and abetting” the enemy in this case. The way campaigns (today) seem to run is “what dirt can we did up on our oponent?” The Republican approach is to then use what I call FUD: fear, uncertainty and doubt about the issue and, therefore, the candidate. There is little more to this story. Back long ago when I went to college, Angela Davis came and spoke at one of my college classes. Someone might be able to spin that into something that it isn’t. Rumor and innuendo.

Barack Obama was #1 in his class at Harvard Law School. He’s a very bright guy. He’s not careless about his life, his career, his family or our country. When you care about your future and you want to keep your possibilities open in the political world, you have to comport yourself appropriately. Think about it: every person you meet could be a potential minefield. Over the past 24 months of this campaign, Barack has demonstrated he’s a brilliant strategist, fund raiser, communicator, leader, etc. That’s why he’s leading.

I missed the debate this week. I’m just now rejoining the “land of the living.”

“Drones” to me are folks who make decisions without looking at the issues–people who run their lives on auto-pilot. This time around, I’m seeing a lot of folks would have traditionally voted Republican voting for Obama. It takes courage to vote differently. I admire those folks who look at the candidates and decide which one is best.

The U.S. Constitution does include the Amendments; the 13th Amendment banned slavery. So, in my mind, we could easily agree to disagree on whether the 13th Amendment is “part of the Constitution.”

mariestacy: let’s give everybody the benefit of a doubt that ALL of us are partriotic about America: liberals, conservatives, members of our armed forces, Evangelicals, Buddists, etc. This lines that divide us are hurting this country, not helping. Democrat Dave

Ahh yes…factcheck.org and snopes.com. What better authority is there on Barack Obama’s life than those?

Barack Obama is a Communist because he agrees with the socialist mindset of ‘spreading the wealth around’ to those members of society that did not earn the wealth. If you don’t know why this is detrimental to society as a whole, then let me explain to you the concept of incentive. Incentive, the drive of an individual to strive to better themselves, cannot be accomplished in a socialist, Communist economy. Incentive motivates people to become more educated and more efficient for the sake of productivity and for their family (as you yield more money when you are more productive). Now, since people in a Capitalist society are incentivized to earn their own money and not depend on the government, then we are not controlled by the government. However, Obama clearly wants to control citizens, as he has shown with his constant pandering to the Unions and, of course, the threatening of Union voters saying they will lose their job if they do not vote for Obama. I have experience with this first hand. My brother is in a Steel Union and voting for Obama because he wants to ‘protect his job.’ What a terrible mindset of dependence on the government Obama has already created. Reminiscent of FDR and Jimmy Carter.

There are a lot of Democrats voting for McCain — including my 86 year old grandfather, a WWII Vet and a lifelong democrat. And I do not believe that ANY individual in this country that would classify themselves as some sort of Conservative Republican would vote for a Leftist Extremist like Obama. Except maybe Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell, but people forget that some people keep up appearances for the sake of an appearance, the ACTUAL polls on November 4 may reflect that. Many people in ALL PARTIES are dishonest. We will see if people look at the facts and accurately assess the damage of giving the Presidency to a person like Barack Obama — who, among other things, will drive this country straight into Depression and wave the white flag of surrender in Iraq. He doesn’t want to win that war and the troops over there do. You should already know who I side with.

Also, why would Obama insult Clarence Thomas. I am very impressed by what I Have heard about Clarence Thomas and I think it shows the worst kind of character flaw in Barack Obama to insult a man like Thomas. There have already been books written on Clarence Thomas’s magnificent works in the Supreme Court, and I encourage you to really THINK about what Obama’s comments about Thomas REALLY MEAN. Not what you want them to mean. WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN. As in, Obama is a ‘living Constitutionalist’ he believes the Constitution can be mended and changed at his own will. Research Prohibition of Alcohol and its long run effect on the United States if you don’t understand why a man like this simply will not work for President of the United States of America.

Also, WHERE IS HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE? DO NOT TELL ME FACTCHECK,ORG.

We both know there are 2 different Obama birth certificates circulating the internet which disqualifies BOTH of them from being real, in my opinion. If either were real, there would not be a vastly different looking duplicate. And neither of them look like my birth certificate. But I’m just an American…what the hell would I know?

mariestacy…I’m not going to pursuade you to vote for Barack Obama. That’s not my goal here.

Barack Obama is favoring shifting the tax burden to the top 5% of wage earners and leaving the current tax burden as it is. Does that make him a Communist? I don’t think so. Somehow, we have to offset the huge federal debt plus the annual federal budgets. The debt has grown from about $5 trillion to over $10 trillion during the Bush administration. At some point, the fun has to stop and we have to act responsibly. The burden needs to go to higher income wage earners, not the middle class. Look at what irresponsibilty has gotten into in this country in just the last 4 weeks?

Barack Obama said he would not have selected Clarence Thomas to be a Supreme Court justice. I agree with that statement. The Judicial branch of government is separate from the Executive branch, so I don’t understand the idea that a “man like this will not work for the President.”

And, yes, I did rely on factcheck.org. Also, you should know that the guy who started the false rumors about his birth–a sicko with a history of such crap–has been discredited just this past week. I don’t recall his name tonight–sorry.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and was raised by his mother and grandparents in Kansas. Because his natural father was Kenyan, he also held Kenyan citizenship until the age of 21 at which time it elapsed.

I think we’re just going to have to agree to disagree.

Good luck to you. Democrat Dave
